George W Bush Undergoes Heart Procedure

Former US President George W Bush has successfully undergone a heart procedure after doctors discovered a blockage in an artery.

His spokesman Freddy Ford said a stent was inserted during a procedure on Tuesday in Texas. The blockage was discovered on Monday during his annual physical examination.

The blockage was opened with no complications. The 67-year-old is expected to be discharged on Wednesday.

Mr Bush was described as being "in high spirits" and eager to return home. He plans to resume his normal schedule on Thursday.
